The Ban Ki-Moon Centre For Global Citizens (BKMC) is now accepting applications for its Youth Agrichampions 2024 Program. This is the third edition of the Peer2Peer workshop series on climate adaptation in agriculture, hosted by the BKMC. The initiative aims to bring together approximately 15 young grassroots voices from the world of smallholder farming and agricultural entrepreneurship in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Zambia. Participants will share their on-the-ground experiences with adapting their practices to climate change during the workshops taking place in July 2024. The BKMC Youth AgriChampions will develop a youth demand paper during the workshops. The paper will be elevated in high-level political fora by BKMC co-chair and 8th Secretary-General of the UN Ban Ki-moon. The thematic focus of the 2024 Demand Paper will be "locally-led adaptation for smallholder farming". Selected Youth AgriChampions from previous years have joined the BKMC delegation on the ground at COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh and COP28 in Dubai to launch the Demand Paper and represent farmers around the world. They should be aged between 18 to 35 from Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Zambia.
