The Google Developer Scholarship for Africa

Google, Andela and Pluralsight have partnered to help you take your skills to the next level. You will be provided with an access to the Pluralsight technology skills platform with three skill development racks which include Mobile Web, Android, and Google Cloud. In addition, the Andela Learning Community will help you through your learning.

How to get started

·         Register for your desired Google track.

·         Take a skill assessment to receive your Pluralsight Skill IQ and complete the courses provided.

·         After registration, complete the onboarding survey.

Eligibility Criteria

·         Applicants must be at least, 18 years.

·         He/she must be resident in any African country.

·         Priorities will be placed based on the outcome of Pluralsight Skills IQ.

Internships in Andela

Andela Nigerian Internship Programme

The opportunity is for both undergraduate and postgraduate students from various academic backgrounds to upgrade their learning and developments, as well as gain skilled experiences through practical training.

Interns are required to bring in their best skills, experiences, innovative ideas and perspectives into the work while gaining more knowledge and experience as time progresses. With this, their career is solidified for the future.

The duration of the internship is between three months and one year. However, the portal is open for intending applicants to submit their applications at any time while specifying their field of choice. In addition, applications are expected to be submitted at least, three months before the intended internship period.

Eligibility Criteria

·         Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or a graduate programme to qualify for the application.

·         The internship programme is not open for volunteers or postgraduate job seekers.

·         Only applicants who possess an introduction letter from their academic institutions will be selected.

·         Applicants must embody the EPIC Values of the institution.

Andela Fellowships

The Andela Fellowship is a full-time employment opportunity designed for talented and high potential technologists to build their skills and experiences on a global level. The fellowship is designed to last for four years with intensive learning and work experience which will help the fellows to master the professional and technical skills needed to succeed as a software developer.

The first six months would be spent on honing your technical abilities in a simulated distributed team. Afterward, you will join one of the Andela partner companies as a full-time distributed team member. Throughout your stay with Andela, you will work closely with the world’s leading engineers in different technological companies; this will give you an edge over other developers and make you a global personality.

Eligibility Criteria

·         Applicants must not be below 18 years.

·         It is advisable to apply once you graduated, stopped school or ended other commitments to be able to be fully involved. Andela Fellowship is a full-time programme that lasts for four years.

·         Nigerian applicants must have completed the compulsory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) before applying.
