The Australian Government, Universities and organizations offer a variety of Australian scholarships for international students. These scholarships are for Undergraduate or Postgraduate research/taught courses, vocational education or training. Below is a list of scholarships in Australia for international students from Africa and developing countries with studies in the 2021/2022 academic session. Many of the scholarships are awarded annually. Take note of the time of the year applications open, and check back regularly. Australia Awards Fellowships offer Australian organisations, from all sectors, the opportunity to deepen and broaden their links with leaders and professionals in developing countries. Australian Government Research Training Programme (RTP) Scholarships for International Students On 31 December 2016, the International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) ceased and was replaced by the Research Training Program (RTP) from 1 January 2017. The RTP provides block grants, on a calendar year basis, to higher education providers (HEPs) to support both domestic and overseas students undertaking Research Doctorate and Research Masters degrees, known as higher degrees by research (HDRs). The scholarship provides course fees for the minimum course duration. University of Melbourne International Research Scholarships (MIRS)The University of Melbourne, Australia offers Melbourne International Research Scholarships (MIRS) for international students to study in Australia. Each year the University offers about 200 new Melbourne Research Scholarships (MRSs), of which about 200 are normally awarded to international students as MIRSs. University of Newcastle Scholarships for Postgraduate StudentsThe University of Newcastle, Australia, offers a number of postgraduate research scholarships for International students to study for Master’s and Doctoral degrees.
